John W Knox,  b. 1861, was the  son of William B. (Bell?) Knox (born in NC) and Elizabeth Sanders (born in MS). They  married in 1859 in Lowndes Co MS. John had a sister, Caddo, b. Feb 1865, two months after William B. died.  Elizabeth also died shortly thereafter. John W.'s oldest child was my paternal grandmother---Margaret Elizabeth.  She was born Aug 7, 1888.  William B. Knox (b. 1832) was the son of John Knox and Jane Bell. We have not proven that John who married Jane was the son of Robert Knox from Steele Creek, Mecklenburg Co NC, but I think it looks probable.  Also, William B. Knox had a marriage before Elizabeth Sanders.  In 1850 he married Sarah Caroline Rodgers (?) or "Rodery" (?) in Marshall Co MS.  They had children Hall Morrison Knox (1851) and Mary Knox (1854).  These two children are not found in the 1860 census with John and Jane, but Hall is found next door to them in 1870, and he stayed near them until their death.  They ended up in Chickasaw CO, MS.
